Brixly has stated all services have resumed as normal, with their downtime starting at 10:40am GMT and all services resuming to normal at 2:24pm GMT, total downtime from our side appeared to be closer to 4 hours as opposed to their reported 2h59m, but we cannot be certain of this as we are unsure if this is down to their status page instability.

The outage occured on the 26th February, and left users without any understanding of the situation due to their status page being down throughout most of the day.

Brixly & Enix Face Another Outage, Users Report Service Interruptions

Hosting provider Brixly, part of the UK-based Enix group, is experiencing another round of service disruption, with its own status page showing a datacentre outage affecting customer services. The incident is still ongoing, with the outage currently lasting 4 hours across all Enix Ltd. services, with engineers marking it as an active event on the official network status board.

The details on the status page indicate that infrastructure within one of Brixly’s datacentres has gone offline unexpectedly, leading to interruptions for hosted websites, email services and other hosted platforms. Affected customers often find that their sites are unreachable, email traffic is delayed or blocked, and control panels may be inaccessible while systems remain in a degraded state.

Brixly’s incident dashboard does not yet show a resolution timeline, and while some services listed on the dashboard - such as the main website and client area - show strong uptime figures over recent weeks, individual server clusters can still be impacted when larger outages occur.

No cause has yet been provided - but us at MEEDEA have struggled to access the status page.

Background and Customer Reaction

Brixly Ltd was acquired by Enix Ltd in mid-2024, a move intended to bring additional resources and investment into the hosting provider. At the time of the acquisition, Enix executives publicly promised improvements to infrastructure and support while assuring customers that the existing team and service quality would remain intact.

Despite these assurances, customer feedback on forums and review platforms shows mixed experiences since the change in ownership. Some long-time users have praised Brixly’s support and hosting performance, while others have raised concerns about sporadic outages, slower support response times, spam issues and occasional email delivery issues.

On community platforms such as Reddit’s webhosting sub-forum discussions, multiple users have shared past experiences of prolonged downtime or service problems, sometimes aggravated by difficult support interactions. These comments reflect a small but vocal segment of the hosting community that monitors Brixly’s performance and reliability.

So... What’s Next?

At the time of writing there has been no detailed official update on the cause of the outage or a confirmed time for full restoration of affected systems. Customers experiencing issues are recommended to check the Brixly Network Status page directly, as this is where real-time updates and resolution notices are posted by the provider’s operations team.

For businesses relying on Brixly for mission-critical services, prolonged outages can lead to lost web traffic, delayed communications, and interruptions to online operations. Observers of the hosting sector will be watching closely to see how swiftly Enix and Brixly respond to the current incident and whether further changes to infrastructure or support processes are announced in its wake.

Statement from MEEDEA

This Brixly outage marks another issue we are starting to face from what was once the most reliable, to now the most unreliable provider out of our hosting suppliers, causing outage to some 40-50 clients we have currently, with little explanation. When we initially chose Brixly as our supplier 3+ years ago to offer hosting services in the UK we were extremely happy with the support and reliability that Brixly had to offer. We will be reviewing our hosting supplier choices in April, as the continued unreliability is simply unacceptable for our clients on any of our services whom have chosen us to provide hosting & website maintenance services. Whether we continue with Brixly/Enix or conduct a mass migration we will keep all clients updated individually that are impacted in due course in April.
